Electric Plugs

Posted on Updated on

Above are images of the type of electric plugs (230V 50Hz) used in Jordan. You will find that most of the electric goods are imported from the Far East or Europe hence there is no standard plug. You will end up buying lots of power extension cables and lots of adapters for the plugs.

The cheap Chinese brand can be very dangerous. They can be overloaded very easily and catch fire. We saw our power extension cable catch fire in front of our eyes just before we were ready to go to bed. Houses in Jordan are not fire friendly. If you live on the ground floor of an apartment, most windows have steel bars attached to them, so cannot escape through the windows. We have since then invested in fire extinguishers,

I hope this helps 🙂
